White River Cousins: HENNON Family of Greene, Martin, & Knox Counties, Indiana

The progenitor of our Hennon family was a Scotch-Irish Presbyterian, James Hennon Sr, born ca.1788 in Ireland. He came to America, married in Pennsylvania to Osee DeWitt, the descendant of an ancient NY Dutch family. They made their way Westward along the Old National Road, as did many others, and settled in Muskingum County,OH.

In the next generation, 4 of his sons, made their way by wagon train in 1862 to the settlements on the East Fork of the White River.

We invite examination of these records:

James Hennon Jr (1814-1872) of Greene County
George W Hennon (1817-ca.1886) of Martin & Knox Counties
Thomas Hennon (1819- ? ) of Lawrence & Martin Counties
    Joseph J Hennon (1825- ? ) of Martin County
